Life is Good, God is Good

So the past couple weeks have been the hardest weeks ever, but I am happy to report that I love it. The harder I work the more I enjoy myself. It sounds really weird, and I agree. I don’t know what it is. Based on the things I am doing this year, I would say that I was lazy last year and every year of my life.

Here’s a little update on the things that I am doing. Working at the UW is great. I love the staff, and everyone is fun to hang out with. To be honest, it is one of the only places that I actually get to hang out and talk with non-Christians. I really enjoy showing Jesus’s love to them with my words and actions. I am still working at my church, but mostly on Sundays. I work occasionally at the church during the week depending on the things that need to get accomplished. Something that is curious to me is that I can tell my heart is really with my church. I feel that the work that I do here at the UW is not as fulfilling as the work that I do at the Church. The church has a mission and I can see that the work that I do there helps to accomplish that mission to reach the people of Seattle. The work that I do at the UW doesn’t lead to anything and seems empty to me. Don’t get me wrong, I do a lot of work at the UW fixing things, but I can’t see what it is for…maybe I am here for a reason, and I just don’t know it yet.

Crew practice is on Mondays and Wednesdays at 6 AM on Lake Washington. Each practice is amazing. We always have great weather and a beautiful sunrise. We have our races a week from yesterday on the 24th. I wish I could take some pictures and show each one of you what it is like out on the lake. It is so beautiful. The actual rowing is tough, but it creates discipline in me and I like that. I actually enjoy crew more then I ever thought I would.

I have been biking a lot lately…or at least as much as I can. I am in the process of building a new bike. My budget is around $2000 dollars. I hope to spend less, but I will do what I have to. I can get a lot of things from my brother-in-law as he is moving to San Francisco. He has some nice Nike biking shoes for me for free. Building this bike is in preparation for the Seattle to Portland ride this summer. Last night I decided to do it. If I can train enough this summer, I will do it this summer, but If I don’t feel ready by July 15th at 5:00 AM then I guess I will have to do it next year. The race is 204 miles.

Summer plans are shaping up for me, and it looks to be a good summer, but I will save that for another post.
