The little things in life

It is the little things in life that seem to make think; wow, ain't life grand? So on Friday I went to my sister's house to hang out and just to see her and my nephew. When I got there, we decided to wash our cars and vacuum them. Then we went inside and ended up watching TV until my brother-in-law came home. I wanted to stick around because my sister was on call, and she would have to wake Connor up and take him with her if she got called into the hospital. So I decided to hang around until Andy got home so that Connor wouldn't have to get woken up. She never did get called, but it was still a lot of fun to hang out, and catch up.

Saturday was my birthday, I am 19. My last teenage year....how sad. It should be a fun year ahead, and I am looking forward to it. For my birthday, I went to Ray's Boathouse for lunch with my family. It turns out that you dinner is free when it is your birthday. So that was a nice surprise. We talked and had a great time making Connor laugh. There are some great pictures that you should look at here. We got some good pictures of him smiling. That evening, I just relaxed at my parents house in Issaquah. We watched a movie, and I hung out with my next door neighbor Andy.

On Sunday I flew my RC airplanes very early in the morning as to avoid the strong winds that kick up later in the day. Then I periodically flew them during the day when I had a chance. I tried to build a sea-plane with Andy, but we ended up making RC hydrofoils ( well, a boat with airplane engines for motors). Then I worked in the yard for awhile, ahh, how I miss working in the yard...seriously I do. The smell of fresh cut grass and the blue sky and the warm breeze...ahhhh so wonderful.

Now it is Monday and the reality of all of the school work that I didn't do has hit me like a Mac Truck traveling a freeway speeds. I had fn tonight playing Halo 2 with 16 other people.....when I should have been doing homework. Oh well, that is what college is all about, right?

Peace out!

The start of a fun weekend!

So yeah, this week is over, but next week looks the same thing. I had a Physics midterm this last week, and next week I have a Math Midterm. I guess I can't win. So much to do, but so little time. I just finished writing my support letter for my mission trip to the Dominican Republic. Then I decided that I didn't want to do my homework, and all I wanted to do was go and do something other than homework......not good. Oh well, I had fun going back to the days of my childhood and playing 007 on Nintendo 64. Ahh, those were the days. I remember when I paid 50 dollars for that game, and I played it a ton with all my friends. Playing that tonight brought back so many memories. Then I went and played darts with Luke, Katie and Nate. That brings me to the present. Right I am in my room with the lights out, and the moon is illuminating my room. It is so beautiful.

Last night I learned how to swing dance. They had free lessons for all UW students at the HUB. It was really awesome. I never imagined that I could have that much fun dancing. LOL. I danced with a lot of different girls, which was weird but ok at the same time. A list of the people that went: Me, Katherine, Linnell, Becky, Ross, Matt, Darren, and Matt.

Next week should be fun; I am looking forward to it. I should go to bed soon; I want to get up at 8 for church!

Spring Quarter

So here I am in the third week of spring quarter. I think I am going to like this quarter. I already enjoy where I live and all of my classes. My schedule for this quarter is not the best schedule, but I will live. A quick recap of what I have been up to lately.

Over break I basically just hung out with friends and relaxed. I did a lot of things with friends who I don't see very often so that was nice. When I got back to UCU, I was pretty much ready for the new quarter, but it still hit me like a bullet train. I am taking astronomy 150, Math 126, and Physics 122. I think I will really enjoy taking these classes, and I just hope they will get more interesting. My slacker class (astronomy 150) is the most interesting one. :( Oh well!

Over break, I got an awesome new remote control airplane, so I have been wanting to go home every time I get a chance so that I can fly it. Luckily, I am able to resist that urge most of the time. I went home this past weekend and flew it for about 2 hours total.

Recently God has really been working in my heart in many different ways. I recently decided to go to the Dominican Republic on a mission trip this summer. I will be going from June 27th to July 6th. It will be an awesome trip, and I am very excited to go and see what God has in store for me there. In the time leading up to the trip, I have a lot to do to prepare. I need to send out support letters, get my summer job all squared away, and go to a lot of team meetings. It will be a lot of added stress and planning, but I think I am ready for it.

Last weekend we had Men's social at UCU. It was really really fun. We had a murder mystery dinner. The setting was in the 1900's aboard a ship bound for England. It was an awesome dinner thanks to Jill, and overall a very fun game. It even turned out that my date (Linnell) was the person that killed the captain. I would post pictures of the event, but I didn't have my camera. I left it at my house. So if you want to see some pictures, go to www.ucu-pictures.com.

Who knows what this quarter has in store for me next, but I am ready to take it on and have a good time while doing it!!!! I will try to post more often this quarter.
